How to use the check sheet
If you read my article or watched YouTube videos on how to vibrate, you now understand that you need to create a pulse when you vibrate. Here is how to use the sheet to help you develop a well controlled pulse in vibrato.
- 1. Set a metronome at around 60.
- 2. Choose a finger on which you want to practice vibrato. I find the 2nd finger to be the easiest to start with for many of my students.
- 3. Start creating a pulse with the metronome click. Start with one pulse at every click.
- 4. Once you can do that, create 2 pulses in every click. Then increse the number of pulses.
- 5. Most likely, you will encounter a number of pulses where you can not control well. That's where you really need to practice in order to gain a total control of the vibrato.
- 6. To make this exercise into a practical vibrato, aim for 6 or 8 pulses in one click with the metronome at 60.
- 7. Practice with other fingers and/or different tempo.
